Publication Design + Print + MotionReggaeton is a Spanish style of popular electronic music that originated in Panama and was later popularized in Puerto Rico and has since overtaken the United States. Focusing on the thrill of the music style, I also aimed to focus on the music’s period, political view, and fun vibrancy.
These spreads have showcased ten songs ranging in years from when the music started in the 90s to where it is in 2023. Along with the songs, a seven-inch vinyl is embedded in the book to help immerse the audience within the culture created by the music.
I have sampled music videos and famous artists of the genre to create a motion poster to promote the book and music style.
The making of this publication has taught me to do better research. Doing better research has led me to have great articles within the book to create a better narrative for the viewer. Learning how to do better research, it has also prompted me to learn how to pace a book, create efficient layout designs, and ensure a better flow of the story.
